Seems to be the thing these days, the Panasonic P800, that Samsung... (Granted that Samsung is pretty nifty). I think they can stop making gimicky phones...
I don't think the 8801 to be gimicky. It's simply a well designed, extremely well built handset.
Phones like the Nokia 8800 and the RAZR and the SLVR are marketted mainly to money blowing business men. I don't think these phones have any broader market than that, else they wouldn't be sold so close to the retail price.
pcrisp07 said:Actually the reason why the sudden price drop is 'cause Cingular had exclusive rights to the phone for the 1st 100 days of launch but now since that agreement is expired, another company like T-Mobile can pick up the phone (not to mention possible launch o...
i've seen the RAZR hit 150.00 at 2 stores this month, Best Buy and Wal Mart, both of which sell tons of phones, IDK what you're smoking but people have been snatching these up like crazy at this price especially since they started at $500.00, which was just a marketing scheme by Cingular to catch the people who absolutely couldnt live without that phone and then work the price down to a point where they could sell to mid and lower range users.

Stainless steel and reinforced glass for 800$? Am I buying a stove from Sears?
A stove from Sears? That's hilarious! 🤣 I agree that the prices of phones have gotten ridiculous. I've been waiting for the N90 because I prefer flip phones and the N90 has decent features. However, for some reason I'm really feelin' the 8800 today. I think it has a very classy, clean look to it. Still not sure about the slide feature, i would have to see one in person.

Wonder how expensive that's going to be. I heard that the price is going to be around $800 is that true? Personally I think N91 has a far better design. This one has kind of an egg shape to it. except for the "precious" metals that they used to make it, it doesn't look all that special 😳
Since when is stainless steel a precious metal?
It's funny though, to read on nokia's website, they talk about it like its precious metal...I guess when it comes to a phone, if it isn't plastic it's "precious"
