Voice Mail
Well, I have the phone and am really enjoying it (with some minor complaints - but I that on all the phones I have used). Here is my first question. I would like to add my password to the *86 that is stored in voice mail. But the problem is I need to store a pause (maybe two of them) before putting in the password. I could not figure out how to get a P (which I assume is the pause command) at the end of *86. There are no softkey options to do this. Anyone know how or is this something I will have to put up with, like not being able to change the font size when I dial from the main screen.
Thanks, MIF.

Yes, there is a decicated PAUSE feature. Using the letter "P" will NOT insert a pause.
When you are entering the number, look at the bottom right of the screen .... OPTIONS
Under OPTIONS item 3 is "Add Pause"
I had to use two Pause insertions in order to give the system time to answer and then respond to the voice message interupt and password.
Try this: *86(pause)(Pause)#1234 where 1234 is your password.

Hi Jay,
I don't know if this makes a difference but I have the Verizon version. I select menu, messages, voicemail, settings, voicemail #.
There are no choices for the left or right softkeys, all I have is an OK in the middle bottom of the screen.

Well, let's see how my phone works. It's a Verizon that I just picked up a few days ago.
Main Menu: 1.New Contact
Ok
Edit Contact:
Insert Name: VoiceMail (or whatever)
Enter first number: Mobile 1
*86 as soon as you enter *86 the OPTION appears at the bottom right.

Jay,
Thanks, I guess I am use to my old phone as when I held down the 1 key, it would automatically dial *86, so I thought I had to change it in the messaging menu. I guess there is not dedicated key like that, but I could assign it as a speed dial number, to simulate that. Is that correct?

The 1 key is used on the Razr also. All you have to do is assign your "Contact" VoiceMail to the number 1 key. You may have to clear or relocate whatever is in the number 1 key and then assign VoiceMail to the number 1 key. It's just a matter of moving around you Contacts that are assigned to the Speed Dial keys 1 thru 9.
