Whenever I have my phone in my pocket, the buttons on the side get hit and it changes the ringer type/volume. Is there anyway to disable this function?

In the Moto interface, it can be done. In the
Verizon interface, I don't see how to do it. It should be under System Settings/Security, but it isn't. On a V710, you can lock applications which includes changing the ring style. I forget the specifics, but it simply is non-existent on the RAZR V3c.

The only saving grace is that it is actually less easy to hit the buttons accidentally than on the V710 because the edge is straight rather than slightly rounded. But I feel your pain...

I'll give you this one 'free of charge'! 😁 All you have to do is set the keypad lock to 'ON'. That would be 'CLR then '*' and you'll see the little lock icon come up beside the battery charge icon. How's that?

Thanks. Of course this works. Only hassle is you have to unlock the keyboard to use it. On the Moto interface, you could specifically lock out the ring style change and affect nothing else...

Come on.. hitting that 'CLR *' again to unlock the keypad isn't all that tough. Have we become the laziest people on the planet?!

One problem: That doesn't work on the Alltel Version of the v3c. ☚ī¸ I'd really like the abiliity to lock my keypad. It's even listed in the manual as hitting [CLR] [ * ]

And nothing. However, hitting CLR, and then #, that shows you your mobile number. Nifty, I suppose. But I want to lock my keys, not look at my number 🙂

This is true of Verizion also ... Did you ever get an answer on how to lock the keys down. And will you have to unlock the keys to answer the phone when opening the flip?

I've not yet figured out how to lock them, no. And I'm not finding anything.

I don't think you do, if you have the phone set to answer on opening of flip, it should pick up anyways.

For Verizon's RAZR: Press CLR then the * (star) key. This will lock the keypad including the side buttons of the phone.
