Hi Everyone,
MPT has been updated to 4.04. I had to update twice, once to 3.30 and then to 4.04. I installed it and it automatically recognized my razr v3c but there was no Multimedia Studio option. I just selected menu, setup, general setup, communication, and then selected change modem (make sure you check the box so it will not automatically select the v3c). Change the phone to the v3cm and viola, you get Multimedia Studio.

What's the link for the upgrade? I just bought 3.28 from BVRP. Thanx

Just do a live upgrade within MPT. Select menu and search through the choices till you find it (I forgot exactly what they were).

I believe it is Menu > Settings > Live Update 😉

This fix worked like a charm. I have transfered wallpapers and some of the stock ringtones from MPT but when I try to send croped mp3's I get an error message"unsupported format mp3 codeec may be inapproiate or missing" Any idea's on what I am doing wrong or what I need to do to correct this? I have tried varying the file size and saving in other formats with no luck. Only the stock .mid ringtones will transfer. Any help would be appreciated. 😕

I have found that the only way I have had good success in using ringtones is to change the mp3 to a midi file. Some have said that you can change the filename of the mp3 to mid but this never worked for me, and since the razr does not seem to support stereo, when I change them I change them to mono.

Installed MPT, could only upgrade to version 3.28. Install seemed fine but when I tried to sync, my Razr froze. Tried removing the battery, still no luck. Screen has the hour glass and a message "Searching For Network" and it freezes there. Is there any kind of hard reset on the phone?

Ok, I just updated from MPT 3.28 to 3.30 and now 4.04.
Phone is still frozen. I pressed several keys on the phone and got to a blue screen with the motorola "M" and on the bottom of the screen it says "Boot Loader INUIT".

Remove the battery, count to 10 and put it back in.

Tried that, did not work. Had the phone exchanged since I could not find an answer here on a fix. When I plugged in the new phone the sync worked fine and all the contacts that were in my dead phone had already been transfered so I did not lose any info.
Thanks anyway.

Here's the trick.
Once the problem is installed and recognizes V3c, manually force it to be Singular V3.
menu -> setup -> general setup -> communication -> change modem -> next -> click on "do not automatically detect the driver" -> next -> select "Motorola GSM" -> select V3.
That will do the job. 😎
