Contact List Capacity- only 500 entries allowed?

Has anyone noticed all the specs state a capacity of 1000 entries, however I cannot access anything past 500. Yet, VZW has preloaded entries in spots 998,999, and 1000!
What gives? Can anyone else enter contacts past #500?

You can use Motorola Phone Tools to access speed dial numbers beyond 500. You can also use MPT to move existing entries to the higher speed dial numbers. Those higher numbers will still be visible on the phone, but Verizon won't let you enter or change a high number.
