Anyone know a good site for any of those? I tried the SmartNES but it locks up everytime, so definitely not compatible 😛 So if anyone knows of a good emulator for the Cingular 8125, lemme know!

Also, a good place for themes/home screens that work good for the 8125 would be appreciated too!

This site has tons of free ones:

I downloaded, renamed the files to something more descriptive. I created a Themes folder under My Documents and copied over. Voila, they showed up under the Today settings window 🙂

Do they fit on the MDA. I have heard there are some out there, but they dont fit right, especialy when you go into landscape mode. I will check it out. Also know of any good sites for 3rd paty software for this.

Most did pretty well. There were a couple I tried that had a white bar on each side when in landscape mode but overall, very satisfied. 🙂 From what I could tell, there wasn't a way to determine which would work without a little trial and error.

Ok, sorry to pull this back up to the front, I finally found a GOOD emulator for NES, PocketNES. Works great... BUT.. my discomfort is trying to play in normal vertical mode. There doesn't seem to be an option to switch to landscape. If anyone at all comes across one to where you can switch to landscape, PLEASE let me know.. that would totally rock ;)

dude, the emulators aren't illegal, it's downloading and using the ROMs that is illegal, if you actually own the cartridge it's perfectly legal to use the emulator and ROM, so actually it should be fine to discuss...kthxbye...?

Actually, using a ROM, even if you own the cartrdige, is not always legal. In addition to the country in which the software is used, it depends a great deal on how the ROM was extracted, the commercial viability of the title and the current copyright owner's legal standing on the use of their property.

Just because it's commonplace for ROMs to be freely distributed over the internet and, in some cases in B&M shops, that doesn't make it 100% legal.

Also, please don't think everyone here so naive. The majority of ROM users are not 100%-compliant legal owners of original media. The vast majority of ROM users do NOT own original media for all of the ROMs they use. The "Abandonware" excuse for ROM use is also incorrect.

In most cases, th...

Easy there, Captain Digital Millenium Copyright! No one is going to issue a takedown notice to phonescoop because some guy asked about a software program of questionable legality (even you admit that it's not definitively illegal). Are the programs legal? Is it fair use? That's very much a debated issue. But phonescoop isn't endorsing these programs in anyway, and if the moderators feel like a link to a page with some of these programs is a problem, they'll take it off. I, for one, say let's get all the info on emulators we can, such as this:
http://www.pocketnes.org/ »

BTW, some excellent statements on the issue you bring up can be found here:
