Is there a way to change the alert for txt messages to a personal MP3? I found that all the alerts besides ringtones are in the Windows file. I pasted an MP3 into there, but it won't list in the avail. alerts for new txts... Help!!!

Please read through some of the existing posts and check your manual. This topic has been discussed repeatedly.

They have to be .wav format to work for alerts, I think once you get them to your phone, they have to be in your windows directory. Should be good to go!

I had done a search before I posted, but didn't find any relavant help. I know how to switch the txt alerts, but didn't know how to get it to recognize the file when I dropped it into the windows file. Thanks anyways though.

No worries. Sorry if I was coming off snooty with that response. I've been tracking this phone and this forum for some time... this is one of the questions that comes up often.

Were you able to download the manual PDF file or are you a Cingular customer?

I'm a Cingular customer so tutorials.cingular.com is where I get my info, but I appreciate the follow-up 😉
