Freeing memory

Can someone help? I have closed programs by stopping them in the memory setting, and still have a small portion of RAM available to programs (8.51 MB.) Is there a way to find out what’s using the program memory space? I hope it’s not all being used by the OS, that doesnt leave much to programs. I apologize if this has already been addressed.

As crazy as it sounds, try taking the battery out, put it back and then restart the device. You wont loose any data but should notice more available memory.
