GPRS/EDGE...I need them off. HELP!
I am around Wi-Fi hotspots all day and am a poor college kid, so I would like to just use Wi-fi all the time and not use GPRS/EDGE at all. Does anybody know how to turn this off? Please help.

Another 8125 Question....
Ok I've read on here things about Wi-Fi and decided to try it on my phone. At work we have a wireless network set up so I decided to try it on my phone. I had a successful connection and I honestly thought it browsed faster through Wi-Fi than it did through MEdia Net.
Now, forgive me in advance for asking a stupid question. But, do I get charged for using Wi-Fi? I mean I'd think it'd be like going to Starbucks or IHOP or whatever and using my laptop. But I just want to clarify that before I get a monsterous bill for WIX overages.
Thanks 😉

WiFi Woes
Why is connecting to a home network so damn difficult. I've owned 3 PPC devices and never got a one to use WiFi. Does any one have a step by step as with GPRS. I have searched every forum I am aware of. No reliable WiFi set up info.

Few bugs I have noticed....
Could be my version of the software, but every 1 out of 4 times I hit reply to a text message, it pulls up the voice command menu. The signal is also kinda touchy. I have never dropped a call with it, but sometimes when I pull it out of my pocket it is searching, even in a good coverage area. I then have to manually search for a network to get signal back. Anyone else having these troubles?

Buggy Software
My wife and I both picked up MDAs a few months ago. I had heard about all of the bugs in the software and other crippling that T-Mobile implemented in the device. The first thing I did was load newer firmware on mine (not official firmware. Search teh internets and you'll find info on how to load other manufacturer's firmware on your device).
With newer imate software loaded on my MDA, I have easier Bluetooth transfers, indicators for caps/symbol when using the QWERTY keyboard, a Java Virtual Machine, no more random radio system crashes, and more goodness. My wife continues to have problems where her radio will randomly crash, either giving the appearance that it is working as normal or spontaneously turning "Airplane mode" on. She's exp...

Script errors with IE, and websites
Does anyone know the registry key, and value to turn off scripting in internet exploder for the MDA. I know this tweaks2k is supposed to do it, but I dont feel like paying 15.00 just to change a registry value when I can do it for free with a windows mobile registry editor.
Thanks

Newbie to T-Mobile MDA - Need Assistance
My PPC 6700 on Sprint died (I think it was an electrical charging issue as it ran hot and the battery discharged quickly). So, I decided to try T-Mobile.
I am really pleased that this phone came much more fully loaded with all of the latest software including push on Active Sync MS Outlook (I bought the PPC 6700 in January 2006 and I had to load too many third-party software apps to make it work better).
However, I can not find a dedicated Windows menu button when I am on the Today screen...
What am I missing?
Thanks in advance.

Null Key Board...
Is anyone using it? I am using it and am having a problem. It often doesn't work; when it does, I'm not sure why because I didn't do anything different. I am using Spb Pocket which closings programs that I think may be interfering. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

Mail does not Sync
I noticed the last couple days my phone was not downloading my email. I had email on the server but it was not downloading. I would try to sync it manualy by hitting the "sent/receive" button and it would connect see 18 email messages then disconnect.
I sent a test message from 8125 then it downloaded the 18 messages waiting. I reset the 8125 and now it is downloading again.
I cant trust though. When I am on the road how do I know there is not email on the server?
Anybody has had the same problem?
Please let me know of any solutions.
thnks

I really want the 8125. How did you get yours?
I really want the Cingular 8125 cellphone. I bought a dummy fake phone on eBay for $12. I am in the middle of my 2 year contract w/ Singler, and if I want this phone now, they want me to re-sign for another 2 year contract. Getting the phone would cost me at least $500 out the door. They might as well extract blood from my veins and sign over my 1st-born.
I decided I'd rather get into a "Hostel" than to sign up for another contract w/ the same company. How did you get yours?

Don't let the charge run out?
A friend of mine told me that with these Windows SmartPhones, that you cannot let the charge die on the battery, else you will lose all the data on the phone that didn't originally accompany the phone out of the box.
Is this true? Does this only affect the internal memory, or also data/programs stored on the external memory card?

how to turn off running programs without 3rd party software
i've seen alot of complaints that running programs can't be turned off without 3rd party software. there is a way, it's just kind of a pain.
go into settings under the start menu,
go to system,
click on memory,
under memory, u will find a tab called "running programs",
from there, u can stop programs one by one, or all of them at the same time.
this will free up memory to make ur whole unit run faster.
hope this helps!

Cingular dataplans
Since this phone has WiFi and WiFi is most everywhere I go, I was thinking of getting it without a dataplan. Is that a stupid idea? Of course, the Cingular salesman I talked to was pushing the unlimited plan. Is there a way to turn EDGE/GPRS off so that I only use WiFi for Internet?

Home screens / Themes / Emulators
Anyone know a good site for any of those? I tried the SmartNES but it locks up everytime, so definitely not compatible 😛 So if anyone knows of a good emulator for the Cingular 8125, lemme know!
Also, a good place for themes/home screens that work good for the 8125 would be appreciated too!

Alarm troubles
Set my alarm last night.. full blast.. 655am. Rudely awaken by my wife's alarm clock at 730am. Highly aggrivated that my alarm didn't go off, and that I had overslept... I go to my 8125, hit the screen button, then DING DING DING, the alarm goes off.. clock on my phone says 7:30am.. but yet the alarm says "Reminder Alarm 655am" dismiss - snooze... etc.
I mean wtf.. has anyone had this happen? It kinda worries me that it can handle so much other stuff but can't perform a simple alarm.
Just looking for a little feedback to see if anyone has had this happen as well.
