Cingular vesion vs. i-mate version - what is the little hood?

I've noticed that the Cingular version of this phone has a little hood on top - the antenna maybe? The i-mate version (SP3) doesn't have that hood, which makes it about 1/4 inch shorter. Does anyone know if has poorer reception/loss of other functionality?

Yup. The little "hood" is the antenna.
The only functionality "loss" is the lack of wifi...the HTC Tornado is identical to the 2125 (HTC Faraday) except is has no wifi hardware.

Would that mean to say that the 2125 has wifi capability? 😳 If so can I be enlightened as to the hack for this?
