Battery Life

I love this phone and all of its features but am really disappointed with the battery life. So I was wondering if people could share their tips for extending the battery life (settings, etc.) Here are the basic ones.

1. turn down the backlight brightness almost all the way down.
2. turn off the "receive all incoming beams" feature.
3. turn off backlight after 3 minutes of inactivity.

I'd really like to get to one full day of charge with average usage. I couldn't even get to one day with mostly just standby and a little usage. I do have it checking POP every 10 minutes, maybe that is eating up some power (but not sure yet if it actually checks this in standby mode).

I've never had it go below 70% of battery life on a full day's usage.

I have the backlit at medium.
I have the keyboard lighting off.
I have everything but EV-DO off.
I have it set to turn off backlight after 1 minute.
I check for new mail every half-hour or so most of the time. I went with a manual sync for now. I've had problems with the device making phone calls from the holster, and I didn't want it waking up and phoning home.

With checking every 10 minutes, you have yours lit almost 20 minutes an hour.

I did all the things you suggested and I seem to have pretty good battery life today. I'm guessing that one of the biggest ones is making the POP mail checking manual instead of checking every 10 minutes. I'd guess other people who are using wireless sync may be having the same problem.

Thanks for your help.
