Hi, y'all... I posted in another forum because I, too, was trying to decide between the Samsung SCHi730 and the Treo. A nice guy turned me on to this one, and after checking them out side by side, I decided to go with the 6700, but now I'm having issues. I've got 15 days to return it, but I would prefer not to return it if the issues I'm having are due to, let's say, my own ineptitude. lol

This is my first "smartphone", so I might just be unused to how this works, but here's my other post. I'd appreciate any and all feedback from those experienced users out there!

Thanks,

m

Hi there, Lgrulz...

So I looked at the Verizon XV6700 along side the Samsung, and what really turned me on to the 6700 was the pull out keyboard -- the...

I tried installing activesync on my desktop and after messing with it for awhile, without success, intalled it on my laptop. Worked fine there for whatever reason. There are some known issues, you may want to check out http://microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync 4 for some help with this. Your problems could be related to your firewall and/or internet security software such as Nortons.

I've loaded quite a number of apps on my 6700 and haven't seen much of a slowdown. First, read the thread here about necessary reg edits. I implemented those and it certainly helped. Second, I just go into the running programs menu, as you mentioned, now and then and shut down everything. No big deal. Have you added a mini SD card yet? I put in a ...

Thanks so much for your replies. After about 24 hours of frustration and anxiety, I've finally got ALMOST everything running properly. I had to uninstall and then reinstall AS about three times to get it to work, had to delete and basically reMAKE my contacts/calendar entries (that was such a pain... you have no idea) but finally everything is downloaded and my calendar/contacts and mail are all set up. Thank GOD (and I'm not even religious!!!)

I'm still having a minor problem with music playback. I bought a 512 MB SD card with the phone and have all the music on the card, but I'm still getting slightly choppy playback (by choppy, I mean that the music is either a tad bit slower or a tad bit faster in places than it should be, even th...

"Programs don't shut down": Look up Magic Button. This is low overhead and memory usage...and makes it so when you click the X...the program actually CLOSES!

Where did you put the music? What kind of card, etc?

ActiveSynch, to me.....is merely a way for me to back up what is on my Pocket PC. I do most everything on the phone itself...then synch up so, when my turn comes around and I have problems....I'm covered. 🙂 Just recently I had to swap out due to a defect....I just came home, synched up...done.

What is AS doing that you don't have a warm fuzzy about?
