XV6700 charging/discharging issues.

My boss has been having some chronic problems lately with his XV6700. They all relate to the battery discharging rapidly. He said that he even had the phone charge overnight and was sure that it was charging. The next morning the phone reported that the battery was dead or nearly out of battery power.

He has called Verizon to see what the problem might be. They suggested that it could be a file or running process that is "eating" up the battery. It was even mentioned that is possible that is a virus. He asked if the phone could be scanned while connected to the USB cradle. Verizon didn't know if this could be done, or if any anti-virus software could be installed on it. I have never heard of any anti-virus software for mobile phones, but ...

I had a similar problem on one of the 2 I own... It appeared to be due to Microsoft Voice command... and a calendar reminder... I turned off all the options in voice command that I didn't need like announcing and readin my appointments to me and have not had the problem since
...
