Power and light?

Two probably dumb questions...
Can you turn this phone off?
Mine always has the green LED blinking. Is there a way to turn it off completely?

The backlight seems to stop working after about 1/2 days use. The phone and its features all work, I just can't get the baclight to turn on. Any idea's what's going on with it?

Thanks... I love this phone! 😉

to turn off phone....put it in flight mode or go to the wireless manager application and turn off using the first choice.....

Far as the backlight..I've noticed soft resets sometimes turn the brightness function all the way down...go to settings....system...backlight....brightness. .make sure the top slide is all the way up....even with the backlight off u should be able to see enough to navigate...

Yes, that does seem to be a bug in this phone that is very annoying. My backlight turns itself all the way down at least once a day.

Is this something that might be fixed by a firmware update? We have these phones and it sure is annoying.

Any firmware updates coming out soon?

It is more likely that some software you have installed is causing some of these issues. I've been a PocketPC user since the first IPAQs and it is incredible how much third party software issues impact the unit.

I'm not going to trash any particular developer 🙂 , but I've had confirmation on ALOT of my issues with my Dell Axim after installing certain products. The developers often admit to the bugs saying "working on fixing that" if you email your their support.

I haven't seen the backlight issue on my unit at all.

As for the blinking green LED, go through all your notifications under Start, Settings, Personal, Sounds & Notifications, Notifications Tab and make sure you don't have "FLASH LIGHT FOR x Minutes" checked for any of ...

Make sure that you are not holding down the lock button. This will turn off the backlight. I have always been able to press and hold the lock button to turn the backlight back on.

I have a problem with the backlight going dim every once in awhile. When you refer to the lock button, are you talking about the power button on the top left of the phone or is there another button that I am not aware of?

Yes, I am referring to the button on the top left of the phone. Plus if you have not done so check you settings for your backlight. Click the battery icon. Then at you bottom of the screen chose backlight to see what your setting are.

I have the same problem. If I hold the powerbutton down it turns the backlight to the lowest setting. But then there is like no way to turn it back up without going into settings which is a PITA.

I'd think holding the power button would turn it back on. Go figure...
