UTStarcom PPC-6700 / XV-6700 / HTC Apache

Have anyone been able to successfully get active sync to work on a pc that has W2K? I installed that software and even upgraded to ver 4. I've tried syncing through the usb port as well as the cradle and the device is not being recognized. I contacted Sprint and stayed on the phone with them for an hour and still cannot seem to get active sync to work.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. 😳
