When reading the training on the 6700 it says that the customer is charged text messages if the phone alerts the user of an e-mail when using Microsoft exchange server. How can this be avoided?

Also, the customer will have the ability to edit file attachments such as excel documents and word documents right?

Thanks for the help...

I use an exchange server but when you set it up on your phone you can just set how often your phone checks for new mail (which is how I do it) or you can make it so you get sent a text every time you get a new email, I personally thought this would be a pain and quite annoying (not to mention I don't have unlimited text messaging as part of my plan) so I did not do it that way.
Also yes you can view, create and edit Microsoft excel, word and powerpoint files.

Thank you! Seemed easy, just wondered why it took so long for someone to respond. I will be delivering one for a customer on Monday. He thinks he has exchange through work...most of the guys have Treo W's...but he didn't want that, he wanted the 6700. So I would assume it would be easy to set up. We shall see...

It's pretty easy, but the best way it to active sync with your computer that has already been set up with all your exchange server. If you get asked any questions during set up that you do not know (settings wise) then you can go to the outlook- (on your computer) Tools - Email accounts - select view view or change existing accounts - select your exchange server account. Your phone setting will be the same as your computer outlook settings. Once you do the set up active sync will transfer sync your phone with all your outlook contacts, calender, and mail. Good luck and ask if you have anymore questions. Sorry it took you so long to get an answer before people must have been busy, I know i was but I do usually check this board at least o...
