Another V710 question

Please excuse my ignorance, but could someone take me back to the beginning with this whole V710 settlement issue? I have a V710, but haven't heard anything about a settlement from motorola, VZW, or any official source... From what I gather, there seems to be some sort of trade-in deal which expires soon? Who is elegible for this?

thx,
JReed

JReed its to late for you if your just now hearing about it.
it boils down to that the people who bought v710s in the begining before VZW started to advertise that that the phone did not support OBEX

If you were one of these people you would have received an official letter letting you opt in or out of the lawsuit. VZW settled the class action and gave us three options.. return the phone and get a new one free up to the price you paid for your v710... cancel vzw completely with out an ETF... or if you already canceled have your ETF refunded

But again if you didn't get the letter you were not included in the settlement and if you were supposed to.. its too late to do anything now

What if I was part of the class, but didn't mail in the form? Is my only option to file a suit individually or is there a way to have the settlement administrator still process?

Call the lawyers....
I suppose if you can prove you were never mailed the forms, maybe they can do something.
However - I doubt it.
These settlements are specifically designed to protect the defendant from any future action from plaintiffs with regard to this matter.

Even if you weren't mailed the form, they will probably blame you for not registering properly or providing an accurate address.

I think you're outta luck... but give it a shot.
