Motorola Q
Treo 700p vs Motorola Q - Decision
I seem to really like the features that both offer. I'm beyond crying over WiFi (buy the mini-sd wifi card). I'm really wondering if there is anything that the other really lacks that should make a consideration difference.
I know the obvious...
- OS palm vs MSFT
- Nice weight, sexy and size difference
I have used Palm devices for years however, I'm willing dump the Palm Tungsten T3 to Motorola's Q (MSFT) if I'll gain something great and I'm not really going to be lose anything vital. I'm tired of having 2 devices RAZR + Palm T3 when I could have it "all-in-one."
On my Palm devices, I really live by the "memo pad, contact list, calendar and task list." Palm seems to have tons of nice other apps too which is making me lean towards them however, I really need my vital apps. I couldn't find any all-in-one instant messaging apps or remote access to your home/office pc for the Motorola Q. Do they exist for this phone/OS? If it doesn't, I know Palm does have it and, I'll stick with the bulky nerd phone. 😢
Do both phones throw your incoming calls into voice-mail when receiving a call and your websurfing? 😕
Both are quad bands? I see different information on different sites. 😳
If anyone else was/is considering the same two, I'd like to hear from you if you wish to share your story.
1. On WM5 like on the Q. calls come through when you're on the 'net. They don't go to voice mail.
2. There a A LOT of software available for Windows Mobile. Check out www.handango.com. Look at the Windows Smartphone section. That's what the Q uses.
3. Logmein.com provides a free service that allows you to remotely access and control a computer from another computer, like gotomypc.com, only free. They have a free client for Windows Smartphone. Don't know yet if it will work on the Q, since the Q's not out to test yet.
4. Q is CDMA only. GSM version may come out after Verizon's 6 month exclusive, I'm told.
