Help with Q/700w/700p etc choice...

Long time reader, first time poster...

I am also one of the v710 people and need to decide rather quickly. I understand in general the differences between the phones, but would like more input. I'm simply just growing tired of having multiple devices.

Having said that I would like a phone first and PDA type functions second. I am a heavy PDA user (Calendar, Contacts, Notes, etc.) but input almost all by hand to keep my personal life off of my work calendar. I do sync with Microsoft Outlook 2003 at home.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Heeeeeelp! 😳

This is the "Q" Forum... Why would you post here? 😳

By a Q. I tried the the HFL with an Acura
and the 700W would not display Batt or Signal...FWIW. I imagine the P will be no different.

I posted here because I am considering the Q, the 700w, and the 700p. 🙂

Thanks for the comments on the Acura. I also have an Acura, the TL. Hope the Q works properly.

Any other thoughts on my situation? Will the Q allow me to replace my Palm Tunsten T3?

Thanks.

as long as you don't need the ability to edit microsoft office documents I would say yes. unfortantly you can only read word, & excel docs. People believe that you'll be able to download "pocket office" at a later date, but as far as I understand the Q will never get it

From what I have touched, I can't type with my meathooks on the 700 series. I liked the touch screen on my Samsung I730, but nothing else worked right. I "demanded" it returned after 6 months and 2 replacements. I'm back on a V710,
and didn't bother with the settlement. I'll get my money out of Verizon some other way.
The 700w was a pain in the A$$ to pair with the Acura, and displayed NOTHING.
I have a new RL and will wait to see if the Q
does show display info.

The 700P well, you're on yer own for that one.
I left PALM years ago because it's a Microsoft World, for better or worse. I need Outlook and a reliable phone with a calender, E-Mail is a +
as is NET and WiFi. (yea I know... no WiFi)

The hard cold reality is nothing you o...

Please do not get a 700....I work for Verizon's largest retailer and these things are pouring back in faster than they went out. Lots of software issues and bugs that Treo needs to workout, it has the potential to be a great device but needs work. My caution to you and myself on the Q is this: This is a brand new technology and game for Motorola. Also, I understand it is small compared to other PDAs, but the Razor is also small and had to be pulled off the shelf for software issues and it doesn't even run Windows. My advice is to heavily scrutinize any device you get within the 15 day money back period.

Stay away from the 700w. In addition to having to do a soft re-boot at least once a day, It is the worst phone I have ever had. I ordered my Q and cannot wait to get rid of the 700w.
