Guys,

Drove 45 minutes tonight to Woodbridge NJ where the VZW store was happy to sell me a Q..

As you may know from my posts and reviews , I am very picky when it comes to Voice Quality. This has always been very important to me and my colleagues considering these things are phones and the conversation should be crystal clear. The features are secondary but important as well.

I spent many years with AT&T and we did lots of voice quality testing for all kinds of Broadband, IP phones and Voice over DSL which was somewhat invented in our lab in NJ. I do know what sounds good and bad.

Soooo. I am truly dissapointed - My first 5 calls were to friends who are all techno guys who do this testing with me each time there is a new phone i...

maybe it was the phone you got. when i got mine today (the first one), it was alittle dissapointing, the battery door was loose, keyboard felt flimsy, when you pressed one button they all went down, i had a couple of scratches on it. and people said the sound quality was not great. at the time they only had a few. i went back to exchange it in the afternoon and they had a shipment of 82. the one i have now is like a completely different phone. everyone said the sound quality is much better on this one. the way it was put together, everything was like night and day. the one i had first might have been from an earlier production because even the operating system worked alittle slow but that is with all window mobile devices. anyway i ...

It's not that this one is bad - Believe me , they are all the same voice quality..

I hear this all the time and then everyone agrees with my findings..

If you have really tested so many different things you would know you have proved little about the voice quality on the Q.

You've tested one and made an assumption that all the rest are exactly the same. They could be, or they could not be. At this point, you have no evidence of either, only conjecture.

Why don't you try another one and see? I'd love to hear your feedback then. Also, havne't hear dmuch from others with problems. Could be they aren't as picky, or thiers are doing better. Every single on of these are complex electronic machines with thousands of things that _could_ go wrong. Not that they should or we should put up with it.

RF , I tested more than one - I have friends at VZW if you read any of my posts.

I spoke with my guys in Data testing and they are having the same issues.

The voice quality is not great , Usable but not great..

Not even close to the Razr which I am not a fan of but its going to be a problem you will see.

Well I don't claim to be a voice expert, but it sounded ok to me. I have had 4 conversations on it with no complaints. Although my friends aren't voice/sound experts either.

I did however have the same problem you did with the SD slot protector. It took a while for me to pry that bad boy off.

Mine sounds like crap. I am planning on taking it back and getting a new one and hopefully its just something wrong with the phone I currently have.
