Q needs a smart holster
When I would place my Blackberry in my holster it knew it was there and would go to silent mode (vibrate twice and then ring for phone calls and vibrate once for new e-mails). This silent notification was very helpful when talking with clients or when I would forget to put it in silent mode at church.
But this Q does not have this option...or does it? Anyone know if you can buy a smart holster for the Q? RIM must have a patent on this, never seen anyone but them use this cool feature.

I agree this would be beneficial to have, but I'd be suprised if RIM had a patent on it, they usually just use the competition's patented products. 🤣

LOL ouch that was good. No unfortunatly that is not a feature of the Q at this time. Blackberry phones do that as a feature of the phone when the IR port detects the holster it changes the profile setting. Im not sure if they have a patent on the feature but its def. only on blackberry phones.

Q does not have this option, but what I did find to be a nice option was the 'Automatic' profile.
This profile automatically switches from Normal to Meeting based on your appointments calender.

I was just about to say that. Very neat gadget. Haven't tried it yet, though. I don't want to be the one in the meeting with the new cell phone blaring its mp3 ringer, so I try to remember to do it manually.
