WiFi! WiFi! WiFi!

Yes, I'm aware this issue has been raised on SEVERAL occasions in the past few weeks. HOWEVER, there has yet to be any legitimate conclusions.

Has anyone, with a new Q in hand, tried using a Mini WiFi SD card to access a WiFi network using their Q yet? Motorola and Verizon offer conflicting information. Any END USERS who can confirm/deny this?

I understand how fast/wonderful/amazing Ev-Do is. My main desire for WiFi is to be able to use Skype (for Window's Mobile 5.0) to make international calls (which I do often for work). Also, it would be nice to have internet connectivity in smaller markets when Ev-Do is spotty.

Sadly, this will be a deal breaker for me when it comes to the Q vs the much more bulky WiFi capable handhelds t...

Have you been able to use Skype with the Q? Has anybody? I'm sure that there is a version that works but it's not listed on the skype software download site.

If you want wi-fi under Verizon, you'll need to get the VX6700
...

I just installed Skype on my Q and am using the EVDO network to make calls. It works really well. I guess you dont need WiFi when using Skype. 😁

From a wireless network point of view, Skype essentially is VOIP-type communication and also is viewed as uploading and streaming audio. Yes, it will work on the Q. It will also work on a laptop using VZW aircard. In both cases, however, understand this: You sign a contract that states you agree to the terms and conditions of service. The terms and conditions are available online and are supposed to be provided in brochere form at the point of sale. Often, this is the fine print no one reads and since that tends to be true, let me inform you.
