First Impressions of Q (And mac address book syncing)
So I picked up my Q this afternoon in a store for $199 (They wouldn't let me combine ne2 and the bundle discount but I'm going to try to get 611 to refund). Also got the $20 extended battery promo as it was too good to say no to.
It's a great form factor, excellent feel and screen (Needs screen protector urgently however). It's a little slow at times but exiting apps more regularly has helped. I have it setup to sync with my exchange account and it works flawlessly - i haven't tried push yet as I don't think I got the SMS2000 package in store (not on receipt even though i asked) and want to confirm before using.
I just paired with my mac and was able to sync my address book over to it (Which then synced to my exchange account over e...

The vzw rep at my office told me Verizon won't let me combine the bundle discount with the ne2 discount; it's one or the other (which seems ridiculous to me -- what good is the ne2 then?). Let me know if you get somewhere with Verizon and get a refund. Thanks

I think that if you do *228 option 2. That may fix the phone number issues. Or maybe do a reset on the phone. I work in a store myself so that is probably what they would do for you at your store as well.

Hrm, neither worked, it really doesnt seem to be an issue and everything works fine (rings/calls/txt/etc)- when I have more time I'll swing it into the store once they've been out for awhile. Thanks though!

how did you get the address book to sync up? i couldn't get isync working either, and i tried a bunch of different code edits that worked with razr and other moto phones on howardforums. my guess is that windows mobile is keeping those hacks from working at the moment. i couldn't get missing sync (even the newest alpha version) to work either.
i paired the devices with bluetooth and okayed address book connection, but the phone never mounted and i could never figure out how to sync the address book. any help?

Open the Address Book application, click on the little bluetooth icon in the top - this will setup a pair (outside of iSync and apparently the bluetooth pairing in system prefs). Once paired select all the contacts you want to send to phone and choose Card-> Send these Cards from the menu. It will pop up and ask which you'd like to send to and boom, done. Mine took about 15 seconds of hung-phone-time to import all 88 contacts I copied over. I haven't tried copying from the phone but I'll give it a try tomorrow and let you know.
