Moto Q shortcuts?

I'm loving my new Q but wish I could punch a button and go straight to my calendar or tasks like on the Palm. Does anyone know if there is a way to enable shortcuts, the owners manual is almost worthless.

YES - Just set up a speed dial for tasks or calender....assign it a number and you are all set!
