Motorola Q Review vs. Rim BB 7250
I have been waiting for this device about a 9 monthes now.I have tried to work on every feature in the last three days. I started out with the intention of putting the Q through it paces during the trial period.

PRO'S
- I use link2exchange.com as an exchange server and it works great keeping all contacts, appointments, tasks and emails wirelessly in sync. The update time is very fast having come from black berry and link2exchange which I was very happy with. This costs me 9.95 for the exchange server plus 2.00 for the wireless sync per month. This also provides you a copy of outlook and a web version of outlook.

- "There should be an end or close option on all programs, the cancel button below the thumb wheel should function to close or kill the program."

If you go into "task manager" menu (found under system tools), you can "kill", "kill selected" or "kill all" of your running applications.

Graylion, use www.mail2web.com You can get an exchange server for like $1.99 a month and that includes wireless sync. Even the most expensive plan that has collaboration features for people in an office with shared calanders and stuff is only 8.95. its a good deal.

Someone earlier ( I wish I could remember who to give proper credit) mentioned assigning speed dial as a shortcut to bring up the task manager.
From the Start menu select 'System Tools'. Highlight 'Tasks' then, from the Menu button, Add Speed Dial. You can then assign any available number from 0-99. Not a very elegant solution but a workable one.

Great review - agree on all points (especially the lack of a hard delete key on the keyboard)

Based on my 3 days of use, here are some additional recommendations:

- POP3 set-up on the Q should include 2 options: "delete mail on server when downloaded to Q" and "delete mail on server when messages is deleted on Q". I've been reading a lot of user reviews that people are getting different reactions from their servers based on the protocols of their e-mail service providers. In every POP3 set-up I've ever seen - the "delete on server" options have been controlled at the client level. Q has no controls for this.

- "reminders". You should be able to select if you want reminders for: missed calls, unread text messages, unread e-...

Great point kgray! You must be a former blackberry user. I am now struggling with distribution lists and calendar invites. Don't get me wrong I really like the Q better every day, however these are basics for a blackberry killer.

I agree - it's a GREAT device when it comes to form factor and additional features - but they seem to have dropped the ball on some "basics" that blackberry users really appreciate.

I just found another one that's driving me crazy. See my post about the "lock/unlock" feature:
