Memory cards
Is it necessary to format a memory card in the Q. Also, what files, programs, etc., can be placed on the memory card? How do you move files to the memory card?

you do not need to format it.
It's not like the v710.
Works right out of the box.
I've been using the SD adapter and a USB reader to put files directly on the card.
You can put virtually anything on there (MPEG, JPEG, WMV, xls., doc., (read the q specs for all types)
You can also move files via the sync methods - but I just find it easier to use the SD reader (as long as you have a good technique for prying off the rubber cover to the miniSD slot)

you can transfer things with the usb and active sync like described in my last post here https://www.phonescoop.com/phones/p_forum.php ?fm=m&ff=856&fi=656839 in file manager there is a folder called "storage card that you use to put stuff directly on the mini SD. and you can install most any program directly onto the Mini SD
