How do I dial letters in automated phone systems?
I'm trying to figure out how to dial letters when calling into automated phone systems, such a as searching for a last name on a phone system. Since the number keys on a regular keypad have corresponding letters (e.g. #2 is A, B, C - #3 is D, E, F), how do I get the "Q" to dial the correct letter without memorizing the scheme? Since the "Q" keyboard's numbers don't list the corresponding letters, this is difficult. Also, I pressing the letter on the keyboard does not correspond to dialing a number for this purpose (e.g. dialing "K" is not the same as pressing the "5" key on a regular phone. Using the ALT key does not make this happen either. I can't find the answer in the manual, and the local Verizon store people can't figure it out either. Can anyone help with this?
If the "Q" is for business, this will be a real killer for the phone, having to memorize the number/letter combinations. Try that while calling a customer and thinking about the big deal you are trying to save...
