I've heard that when the Q searches for other Verizon Wireless PDA devices through bluetooth it can actually unlock all the bluetooth functions on the found device (if it's a PDA). Has anyone tried this, and if so, is it a permanent disable? And is it possible to unlock non-PDA devices?

Bluetooth works fine on the Q because it was released with all of the BT profiles.

There is nothing special about it that 'unlocks' another device. You just pair the two devices together and the protocol allows the communication to work uncrippled.
