Blurry eyed and several hours later, I still can't get Gmail to exchage on to my Q through Outlook. I'm not sure I understood some of the previous posts, so if somebody can spell out exactly what needs to be done, I would be greatly appreciative.

Also, I have not been able to stream XM b/c I can't log in to the mobile website. Has anybody else had this problem?

Can I spell this out anymore?

Besides the embedded MSN Hotmail® client which requires only your username and password to synchronize your email, some of the most widely available POP3 and IMAP 4 are available for automatic download. This significantly simplifies setting up a POP or IMAP email account with available settings. It is recommended that you try the automatic setup for your provider first before you try the manual settings.
Here are the steps:
1. Press Start, locate the Messaging Icon.

2. Move cursor over Messaging Icon and select.

3. Select B. Outlook E-Mail, Press Menu

4. Select Options (p)

5. Select New Account (E)

6. Input your name (as they want it to appear to any emai recipients). Press the down arrow...

YOU CAN USE THE WIRELESSSYNC SET-UP ON THE Q FOR GMAIL. YOU NEED TO GO INTO SETTINGS IN GMAIL.COM AND ALLOW POP ACCESS. THEN SET UP WIRELESSSYNC.VZW.COM AND THE EMAIL WILL BE PUSHED.

Does the wireless sync method work with the entire message? I only ask because right now I just set gmail up as a messaging account and when I download the entire message and read it, it disappears from my device. Does using Wirelss Sync stop this from happening? If so, what do I need to do to make it work.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Use Wireless Sync and it will work, but make sure your set your POP at Gmail to only mail that arrives from now on.

Or in your Gmail account foward a copy of your email to another addres, like a yahoo account. This should not remove email if you POP on the Q, but this is still buggy.

Or if you have POP access with another service, foward your Gmail to that ...

My works through just the typical send and receive through outlook, not wireless sync. You need to turn pop3 access on in user account settings in GMAIL. Then type in your user info. Here is a link to the GMAIL how to stuff. I don't even have the port stuff entered.

Mine works that way too, however, when I download the entire message and read it, it then disappears. I was told that using the wireless sync program resolves this problem so I was trying to figure out how to get it to work.

When I have wireless sync autodetect my settings, I get an error that says "We were able to autodetect your settings but an error happened while trying to connect to the server."

If I enter the settings into wireless sync myself, it says that "The settings you have specified are not working."

Any advice on how to get around this would be greatly appreciated.

to set up the gmail account for any poping for email first go to settings then to forwarding and pop then enable for mail that arrives from now on, then save changes.

if you want to pop it on the q create new account and it will find all the right settings(down side to this phone will dial in every 15mins to 4 hours to get email.

wirelesssync go to wirelesssync.vzw.com and set it up in there it will also auto find settings this email will pop you email every 15 min on its own and if anything new is there then it will send it to your phone instead of your phone calling in every 15 min. other benefit you can have upto 6 email account tied to wirelesssync and they will all come into your outlook on your phone.

in my case i have y bu...

So here is the deal. For the record, let me just say that Wireless Sync sux! I had it on my phone initially but later learned that it blocks a lot of services just to make sure that it runs fine. Kinda selfish, dont you think?

And the only way to get rid of it was to do a Master Reset...and what wasn't fun. My advice is to stay away from WS.

The gmail issue is not a Q issue, its a gmail issue. You will notice that emails from you Q will dissapear when you check the same msg. online. The reason being that gmail stores the emails as conversations. Once you read the email, it is no longer stored in a designated 'inbox' and THAT is what gets reflected on the Q.

Unlike other email clients that actually download emails (or copies of email...

All I did to remove Wireless Sync was to go into Ad Remove programs in settings. I would hate to do a master reset and loose all my settings. 😈
