Does anyone know if you can Import the Samsung i320 to the USA and use it with an existing network like Cingular, T-mobile, etc..?

Even though its GSM, someone said because it has a Tri-band it won't be capable of working in the USA. Furthur, I spoke with a rep from Samsung who said Imported smart phones have difficulty using email.

Any info is greatley appreciated because the Motorola Q is my only other purchase consideration.

First of all, the Motorola Q is ONLY in CDMA and sold by Verizon Wireless. It will only work on Verizon Wireless, no other carrier will the Motorola Q work for Data. It would however work with voice on most CDMA carriers.

Second, Verizon Wireless DOES NOT USE GSM. You can not use a GSM phone with Verizon Wireless. Just as you can not use a CDMA phone with Cingular. Also Tri-Band does NOT mean CDMA & GSM, it is the frequencies rage, for GSM tri-band is generally GSM 900/1800/1900.

Thanks for the updated information. Do you know if I would be able to use the Samsung SGH i320 on another network here in the USA, if I shipped one over from North Korea or Europe?
