Motorola Q or Palm 700 P

In a few days I'll be eligible for New Every 2 with Verizon. I want a phone that will help me keep myself organized. I'm not really interested in having the phone do work that I would do on my computer, I just want to be able to keep up with my contacts, my schedule and have a phone that works. Bluetooth is important to me.

I like that the Q has an airplane mode, I don't fly that much, but when I do that's time to look at the schedule. The 700P doesn't have airplane mode.

What does it mean that the Q isn't a "smartphone" and the 700P is, will I care?

any advice appreciated

Also, will I be able to use the phone for the things above without a data plan. I really don't want to do any internet stuff on the phone.

If the 700P is like the 650, it does have an "airplane mode". You just press the red "hang up" button and the phone part of the the device turns off, but the organizer portion of the phone is still available.

I am enjoying the Q so far. I have loaded a couple third party programs: papyrus and Facade, and it does everything I need it to do.
