it is true. My uncle works for MOT here in san diego, they are working on a follow up to the Q right now. Its gonna be same form factor, with different keypad layout. Windows mobile OS, with microsd, wifi, bluetooth and all the other good stuff. He said its slated at Q3 or Q4 07 and its still in dev.
