Whats the difference between Windows for PPC vs Smart Phones

I've got a Sprint PPC-6700 and am tired of it locking up, constantly "finding" the memory card, and automatically resetting the backlight to never come on.

Can someone highlight the differences between Windows for Pocket PC on my phone vs. what is on the Motorola Q?

The pocket pc windows mobile 5 is essentially the same as the smartphone version but the Smartphone version purposely trims certain features in order to save memory. For example, without some tweaking or upgrades, the Q will open word files but cannot edit them.

Part of your issues, however, is hardware. I had the Verizon version of your 6700 and I had the same issues. It was such a pain. They are manufactured by the same company, I believe UTstarcom, who made the underpinnings of audiovox devices for decades. A Very hit-or-miss manufacturer in my opinion.

The moto will serve you much better. make tracks my friend, and let us know how it goes.

You said "had", what phone/pda are you using now?

I'm with Sprint and had the Samsung i500 palm flip phone and am debating going back to palm with the 700p or trying the Moto Q as another Windows phone.

Also would like to note, in case you didn't know, the Q and all other smartphones do not have a touch screen.
