Problems downloading software

After I download any Smartphone Windows Mobile 5 application, I try to install it, and my ATI Catalyst Control Center install application runs. I'm unable to install any programs on this device.

Any ideas?

What format are they in, cab files or executables?

Cab files need to be transferred to the phone first and then installed from there.

Executables.

I'm able to download the executable, sync using Active Sync, but when I run the executable, the installer for my PC's graphics card runs.

This doesn't happen with any other downloaded software (for my PC, for instance).
