Samsung SCH-A930

Has anyone tried using a card reader or are have problems with using the cardreader and MP3's?

I have a MicroSD card. I tried the music files under MP3 and WMV, but neither works. Do I need to buy the V-cast package (the one with USB connection...)? Or does the phone play a different version of the song?

The songs show up on the phone, but when I tried to play it, an error message shows up. Please help!!

All these questions and responses...I missed something myself... Do MP3s work for ringtones? I left my data cable somewhere and have not tried..... I used the .pmd tones from the past. Although the talk/standby time is great, if you plan to listen to music, watch videos, and/or have fancy loud ringtones... go for the extended life battery! Keeping in mind that I have been working in a hospital and in and out of signals all day (which kills battery) I went back out and got one for 42.00 with the cover (my account said something about Merit Club and theres a 25% discount on accessories...try asking about it if you have been a customer for years) Or search the web for a deal, but I reccommend OEM...not the knock offs because it will void the warranty beyond the voids we already put on it by the light hacking LOL. when putting in contacts does many for same name count as one please advise

i did not find much on what the SD card slot is for. Without this card, can i upload any mp3/wma music on to the phone?

or i can only listen to Vcast downloaded music?

I am not going to sign up with a company that charges you for other people's, companies texts. Is there a way to block these? I am with Sprint now, and do not accept these. Any suggestions.

Does the HS850 headset work with a930? What is your guys opinion on the best bluetooth headset out there right now.

I was talking to a guy at Verizon, and he said that the older Samsung's that have an internal antenae lose reception if you put your hand over the top of the phone....is that true? and is there any thing like this on this phone?

Anyone up for being a moderator and starting a a930 yahoo group... I will share some files there if theres a group... I have tons of tones and stuff.... I just don't want the responsibility of keeping up with the group because I think these phones are flying off the shelves and the response will be large! I myself have sold people on it....even the yuppie ass razr fans... I am so sick of seeing that damn thing.... my girl got one and I stuck it to her with this sharp ass 930.

With my old data cable from my a670, I have been using BitPM .9.02 and when the phone is detected as "other phone". If you go into settings and change other to an A950, you will gain access to the contacts, calender, tones, etc. You will have to reset this every time though. I am sure they will udpdate soon though and offer the MP3 features because you have to touch with vcast in WMP10 to sync to memory card. Love the phone, all is going great and no complaints.

I have never had a phone that could play MP3's before. So I was wondering if some of you could give me some input on where to get the cable or what kind of cable I need to get it to work with BitPim program.

I currently have the A930 but am considering exchanging it for the new V3m. I'm wondering if the additional cost of the V3m is worth it. I like just about everything about A930 but the thinness (carry my phone in my pocket) and the ability to use mobile phone tools or the RAZR really does appeal to me. I do wish the CDMA RAZRs had better screens though. Just wanted to get some opinions. Thanks.

does anyone know the largest microSD card that I can use on this phone? samsung said they only tested it up to 512mb. I was thinking of buying a 1gb? anyone knows if it will work??

I just ordered my A930 via the VZW website. With my NE2 credit and the $50 online discount it was free.

Another comment...I checked it out at my local VZW corp store and they had it in, but they were not selling it. However, they did let me take a look at it(That is why I ended up purchasing online)

Just wondering if anyone has tried to make mp3s ringtones and if so how and how easy or hard is it.

So I just started using a950 software for the a930. So far no problems, I turned on a "hidden menu" feature but instead of giving an option to put mp3 player in the get it now list it gave me some useless stuff. I'll let you know if i find anything cool. Can anyone recomend a particular phone flashing software and does anyone have drivers for the a930 specifically?

When I rotate the camera so that its looking out through the back of the phone, the preview on the internal screen is upside down. Anybody know how to fix this?

Does anyone know if the external display stays on at all times? If you have missed calls or a new VM will it stay lit up to display this info or do you have to hit a button to "wake it up"?

Also does this phone have the ability to ring and vibrate at the same time?

How is the reception and audio quality on this phone? I have a Motorola v325 that I am looking to replace - is this phone as good as or better than the Moto reception-wise? I use this phone a lot in Northern VT.
