You can order it online... but I would do it over the phone, because when you upgrade online, they'll force you to change some of your plan, like text messaging bundles and such. I called it in even though that meant I had to mail in the rebate, because I could keep my $5 in-text messaging. The prices are the same except online its instant rebates in terms of new every two. I'm not positive about the speakerphone, but from what people are saying it looks like its gonna be the same as the 8100, were it has to be open.

thanks, also few more questions, how long does it take to receive it from online once i order it? and how much does shipping cost? cuz im not too sure i want to get the phone yet. i just got the a930 but i have till june 10th to return it and i wanted to see if i like this phone any better. i love the a930 and with that you can have the phone closed to talk on speaker. the only thing i would improve about the phone is that it should be a little slimmer and it doesn't have stereo bluetooth.

Online and telephone orders are regularly free for 3 day shipping, sometimes getting it in 2 days. I was told by the internet orders department that they will be offering free 1 day/overnight delivery starting next week. The only advantage that the a930 has over this phone is what you have already stated(speakerphone with phone closed), however, how big of an advantage is this really? For one thing, the LG VX8300 looks better than the a930, hands down. It also has stereo speakers, the new customizable interface, stereo bluetooth, and a few other features.

You have to return it by mailing it back, and it is a huge ordeal and pain in the butt. Basically, if you do it on the internet, make sure you want that phone. I live in Chicago and my phone is in the FL district also. This is the second year in a row I've done this... It's kinda scary but thats the way verizon is set up. Too bad there not set up like Sprint!!!

the answer to your question is no, you can not order this phone from florida if you live in the north east. i had a half hour conversation with customer service from verizon and he explained this whole ordeal to me over the phone. i live in jersey. he said we have to wait till it comes out up here. he said every region had different pormotions and different release dates for phones. how this phone is out in florida before the tri state and metropolitan area is beyond me.

yea i hear ya. I am in jersey as well. It seems that Verizon treats us here as second class for some reason.

Why this phone is out in Chicago and Florida before the greatest city in the world(NYC) is beyond me.

It's nothing personal, but I have to say it's hard not to take a little bit of pleasure in the fact that I live in Iowa and will have the phone tomorrow or the next day and then I see all these people from "NYC" and "Cali" complain about not being able to get it.

Don't get me wrong, I know how frustrating it is for other people to have technology that you don't have access to. It's just funny when, for once, the shoe is on the other foot. 🙂

If you'd like to rub it in, there are a bunch of technologies that I'd love to play with, but will wait years to see, while it's currently available on the coa...

Maybe it is better to wait, you never know. They could have already made minor revisions to the first batch of phones that were produced which are on sale now. Who knows when these first phones could have made it off the production line...it could have been months ago.

I could vouch for that, especially with how the E815 is.
