8300 Charging port
Hello,
I bought an awesome desktop charger off of ebay for the 8100. The one that has a small LCD display that shows the charge...Will I be able to use it with the 8300? I went to the store and looked at an actual 8300 and the charging port seemed to be the same.

It's actually a little bit shorter, so no you won't be able to use that charger. âšī¸

So that means that my car charger for my BLACK LG VX 7000 (not the round one) will not work either?

You can modify 6100/8100 plugs to work by cutting the center key out with a razor blade.

Thanks it worked for me too! I had to cut the whole top off for it to fit but it definately worked, just be very careful of your fingers if you try this! đ

Scratch my previous post then. I don't know why I thought it was shorter, just knew it wouldn't go in. Now I can use my old car charger yay. đ

If you look at the end of the old charger plug you'll see 3 raised places on the part that goes inside the phone. The middle one keeps you from plugging it into the 8300 so if you cut it out it'll go in.

yea the charging port is the same circuit, but they just add a metal peice so that everyone would have to buy new chargers, Samsung did the same thing about a month ago, stupid manufactures. But the new chargers are backwards compatible an fit the old phones, so not all is lost. đ
