LG VX-8300

i was told from verizon you need a music essential kit because putting songs on your microsd from your computer will not work, you need to use the kit. but once u enable mp3's from the service menu you do not need the essential kit. verizon purposely disables mp3's so you have to buy the kit and use vcast. i bought the kit and realized i do not need it, but it comes with some very good headphones for the fone and a usb cable so it was worth the 30 bucks.

the don't have the music kit and i need the data cable for bitpim for my ringtones anyone know if they have any stores that have them local to central jersey i went to verizon store, bestbuy ciccuit city and like three others and no one has the 8300 just the one thats labeled 8100 and 8400 i didn't even know there was an 8400 but says it on the package why can lg keep it simple and stick with one charger i know they make alot of money of them but thats just greedy

I don't know about Jersey, but in Tennessee we have the new data cables that work for the 8300. They say 8100 and 9800m on them.

ugh i have the 8100 cable for my old 8100 and it dose not fit the 8300

it won't. Its the NEW cables that are backwards compatible.

Copying songs directly to the MicroSD card from the PC works perfectly. (After FIRST enabling the MP3 option and THEN inserting the card for the first time)

Is the cable that comes with the Music Essentials kit the SAME cable that WILL work with BitPIM when it is compatible with the 8300? Or will I need different cable as I see no need for the Kit.

it will be the same. I don't know when bitpim is going to come out with an update to work for the new phones.
