Help w/Mac compatibility

I am considering this phone, but know that Verizon is seriously in bed with Microsoft and I'm an Apple guy.

I have read that this phone plays only .wmv files and not MP3s or AAC.

If this is true is there a work around for this and other issues I may encounter? Can I save MP3s to a microSD card and have the phone recognize them for example?

Suggestions?

nope it's not true i am very happy to tell you that i just figured this all out, i'm slightly embarrassed it even took as long as it did because it's honestly quite simple. i also have a mac and i just finished putting my mp3's on the phone, it's as simple as dragging and dropping after u enable mp3 player in this wierd hidden menu (go to menue and hit 000000 kinda wierd but whatever). but anyways the phone is suprizingly compatable with my mac and its a great phone overall so i say go for it.

Great news!

Also, do you use a microSD card and card reader, bluetooth or BitPim? Which version of BitPim?

I have a G5. 1.8 dual w/out bluetooth, and am upgrading from an LX4400. I'm a newbie at using a phone for anything but phone calls!

I appreciate any suggestions...well, within reason, that is.

yes, i use a micro SD card and the card reader/writer. the only thing i have used the phones bluetooth for is a headset and it works great. i don't have much experience with BitPim and i'm not particularly knowledgeable enough to dish out help on that topic. on the subject of bluetooth if anyone has info on fm modulators and where you can get them or if they work with the 8300 i would appreciate info on anything related to that. thank you.
