We just bought the phone tonight. Hubby wouldn't buy the Music essential pk or the card because I already have an IPOD. How many MP3 songs can I get on the phone? The sales guy at Verizon said about 5! ☹️

You're better off getting a 1GB MicroSD card, it's cheap online. Try amazon.com

How do you go about putting MP3 songs on the phone? Do you download them from VCAST? Do you have to pay for them? Can you use them as ringtones? Or do you have to download them from a computer; I do not have any songs on my computer and have no idea how to do that stuff.

I dont know but the microSD card is needed to store many more songs... you can email portions of mp3's to set as ringtones on your phone though... I guess the phone only has enough memory for 5 full mp3's ... if you want more, you need the memory card
