Question about pricing

I'm eligible for a NE2. With that in mind, what price should I be seeing for the 8300? Is it $50? I thought I had read here that some folks were getting it for $0 but now I don't see that and I assume I just misread something.

Also, is there a price difference between going to a Verizon store vs. ordering online? Thanks.

Mine at the Verizon store was $54.95 after tax, but will get it back in a rebate. So final cost is "0".

I prefer to go to a store for my phones. This way it is fully set up. But to each their own.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if the pricing varies by store/zipcode? I was in a store this weekend and they told me that after rebate the price was still $50. And, if I look online (vzw.com), it shows the price as $50 though I can't tell if there is a rebate on top of that (though I don't think there is). So, in the store here and online it looks like $50. What area are you in (I'm in the Boston area). Thanks.

When I look online (using my NE2-eligible phone) it says 99.99 price - 50.00 online discount. So, this looks like a bottom line of 49.99 to me. Is there still a $50 rebate on top of this? Or am I seeing something different than what you got? Thanks.

No, no rebates on top of that. But you said that you had New Every 2. That will take care of everything.

Just a comment about the Verizon stores. I visited one last weekend to upgrade to the 8300. They were very busy, so after a 45 minute wait I finally got up to the counter to speak with someone. As the rep. is entering my info. on the computer he tells that there is a $15 fee for the upgrade. I asked what the fee is for and he said it's for switching the ESN # on my account. Keep in mind this is only my first attempt to upgrade with Verizon so I was not aware of such a fee. He watched the back of my head as I walked out without a phone. I will order online and activate myself and not have to pay a fee for them to enter a number into the computer. While there is something to be said for buying in-store regarding service and questions, ...
