Question for those using BT

I LOVE this phone, but I noticed that with all the BT headsets I use with it that if I haven't made/recieved a call in a little while that the BT will disconnect even though the phone never leaves my pocket. I have to press the button on my headset to get it to reconnect. Sometimes I won't notice until I get a call and the phones ringing but the headset didn't beep, then look only to see it's no longer connected. Other times I hear a beep in the headset and look to see it has disconnected. Anyone else have this happen?

Mary,

I don't have my 8300 yet - just got back from a short vacation, and should get it at my office tomorrow -- but this has been happening a lot with my 8100 lately. I'll post again as soon as I get the 8300 set up. BTW, I'm using the Logitech Traveller - has worked very well w/my 8100.

That has always been the case with my V3I phone that I use on Cing and when in Europe. I assumed that it was to save the battery on the Bluetooth headset. Not sure. but that is what I found was happening as well.

I am not sure that mine has disconnected but I did notice on my BT Moto HS820 that the light was not blinking. So I pressed the button and it was working. But I did not receive a call either it see if it was ringing or not.

May I ask what headset are you using?

It was happening with all the ones I have, Plantronics 320, Moto H500, Jabra BT150, Logitech Mobile Express and Logitech Mobile Traveller. I did, however, exchange the phone yesterday since I was still within my 15 day window, and now all seems fine. Must have been the phone.

Mary

Out of all the BT headsets that you have used -which one would you recommend for the 8300? Someone had mentioned that an LG rep uses the Plantronics 500 and had good luck with that.

I meant to say the Plantronics Voyager 510!

I haven't used that one yet, but I'd say the Logitech Mobile Express or the Jabra BT150. Strange to say because these two are two of the cheapest available, but sometimes a high price doesn't mean better quality.

You like the Logitech express over the traveler?

Just ordered the Plantronics Voyager 510. Seems to get good ratings wherever I looked. I'll give a report on it after using it with the 8300. By the way, it can be had for $50 on E-Bay.
