Mary,
Would you mind telling me what version of Bitpim you have? Have you done an upgrade recently? I have v 0.9.02. However, when I did the upgrade I kept getting .dll file error messages. I am not sure I truly got all the upgrade. Any features, other than "about", that would confirm I have the upgrade?

Your version is the most recent. BitPim will only work with phones in it's "database" and the 8300 is too new. However, the 8300 is going to be a very popular and high selling phone so sit tight and use the Automatic Update Check feature in BitPim and you'll be up and running in soon enough.
