8300 and Mac

Anybody using a Mac to make and send ringtones?

I've tried converting MP3s from iTunes to AIFF and importing them to Garageband. Once there I cut them down to less than 30 seconds and then send them back to iTunes, convert them back to MP3, and then send them as an attachment to my phone.

It works, but the sound is pretty bad.

Suggestions?

Any other Mac related help for the 8300 would be good, too.

Thanks!

Just use audacity...

It works great, just make sure you also download lamelib so you can cut MP3's down and save them. That way they sound great.

If you have bluetooth you can set it up that way too and wirelessly send the ringtones, pictures, and anything else using bitpim.

Ah! It works. And thanks for the tip about lamelib.

It seems that Verizon limits the ringtones to 350kb - pretty short.

Do you know how to take ringtones off my phone's memory? I don't have a microSD card yet, so the memory is filling up.

And once I do have the card, can I use it to put longer ringtones on?

Always more questions...

Thank you!
