LG VX-8300

4x digital zoom on VX8300?

I've seen a number or reviews/articles on the 8300 that state it has a 4x digital zoom. If this is a zoom that is supposed to be available when taking a photograph, I can't figure out how to activate it. Anyone?

I CAN zoom when doing a video by pressing the right or left buttons on the center wheel. However, this zoom feature is not available when taking pictures with the camera. Anyone else have this?

I noticed that the zoom does not work when the resolution is set to the highest. Bump it down and you can zoom.
Don't know why.

The zoom feature is not available when you have the resolution set to highest setting - 1280x960 - for still photos. You can zoom on video mode. I haven't had time to play with this camera that much as of yet, but on my 8100, the camera worked much better on the 640x480 setting. And, also on the 8100, you could only zoom when set to 640x480 or lower.

Thanks DoubleHelix and InsuranceMan. Bumping downthe resolution did the trick. I wish the zoom was available on the highest res, but now I know it's not just my phone. Everything considered, I really like this phone.
