It IS magical - or not - how does music play on bluetooth headset?

After hours and hours of time with the Verizon 2nd-level support I am still unable to get my new Jabra BT620s to play music from my LG VX-8300. Has anyone had success in playing their WMA music with a bluetooth headset with this phone? The BT620s is a stereo headset so maybe that is the problem??? Or maybe it is a user-error??? Or maybe no one has tried this yet???

Anyone - please help!!!

The phone is great, the headset is good too (maybe a little warm on the ears), and all of the bluetooth functionality works EXCEPT playing music on the headset... all the beeps, the conversations, the audio prompts, all work correctly wireless/bluetooth, but as soon as a song is played on the phone, the audio stops on the headset and starts on the...

Stereo BT headset only work with the built in MP3 player. This will not work with the WMA's. To activate MP3, press and hold the OK button and press 0 while holding the OK button. Release both and enter in 000000 for the service code. Go to the last setting and change it to MP3 enabled. Clear out and go to setting and tools, tools, shortcut keys, change your play buttons to MP3. Load some MP3s (not wma) on your Memory Card and your BT headset should work.

So far so good... but now how to get MP3s to my phone??? I've tried and tried, and although it acts like it works, there are no MP3s to play. I've used both windows file explorer to copy AND also media player to sync. I did change my rip setting to be MP3. I think the phone is deleting the files after I turn off the sync program (is that possible)?

Is there a special folder MP3s should go in? If so, how would I create that folder - create folder is not an option from file explorer.

Many thanks for where I've got so far!!!

Wow, this is one tough phone to crack!

I did enable Mp3, and I have the option under Get Tunes & Tones to see option 8. My MP3s, but "No Songs found on Memory Card" is what the message says.

Is there a special way MP3s need to be loaded?

This isn't working 😢

The only way I have access to the phone's microSD card is to start the "Sync Music" option - is that right?

Then, I can use windows file explorer to drag and drop mp3 files, but do they go in the root, the Music folder, a new folder called mp3 (and if in a new folder, at what level)?

I did try to put an MP3 folder below Music, but after I exited the Sync mode, there was still no MP3 music and when I returned to Sync mode, the files I did copy are gone.

THANKS for the help so far, btw, this site is awesome!!

Sheesh, sorry that I said press and hold OK... it still worked. I work for VZW and some LG's require you to press both at the same time, since some customers are not coordinated the press and hold OK or Menu button(varies from phone) and press 0 works. LG just made my job easier on later models. It got the job done.

Anyways, Just reformat your memory card. Setting & Tools, System, Manage Memory, Card Memory, Options, Format Card, enter lock code (last 4 of your Mobile Telephone # unless you changed it). The My_MP3 folder should show up now along with My_Flix, My_pix, My_Music, My_sounds. I use a card reader so I never synced with an essential kit/USB cable, but if you can drag and drop MP3 files to the My_mp3 folder, it should work. Make ...

BTW, I don't own this phone anymore as I went back to my 8100. I paired the Stereo BT from Moto with the 8300 and it worked great...except when I put my hand up to the right side controls on the BT headset, sometimes the BT would lose connection or screech horribly, even if I was 3 ft away from the phone. I can't tell if it was the BT or the phone so I returned both. Judging by other people's postings I think it's the phone. Hope you have better luck with your BT.

EUREKA IT WORKS!!! 😳

Okay, this is pretty cool now! THANKS THANKS THANKS!!!

As it turns out, the sync software is very unwilling to mess with MP3s and every time I exited that program, it would delete anything it didn't recognize as a wma file. Also, the sync software ONLY recognized the my_music folder and never would let me see the my_MP3 folder... once I loaded the card in a regular reader and copied my files it work (didn't have to go down the format path).

The miny challenge with the BT headsets is to activate it from the buttons instead of the phone - no big deal - I have got it to work from the phone's menu bluetooth enable BT Headset option - which is already on, but I have to disable and enable it and then the buttons...

Hmm, I've got mine to work. Did you setup your shortcut keys in your tools for your play button for MP3? The ht820 has a Play/Stop/Pause button on the BT headset too, I was looking at others like Jabra's and figure those buttons should work too. I hope the Chocolate will work just as well since I see it has stereo BT profile. Can't imagine why VZW advertises it a an MP3 player when the default setting is V-Cast Music WMA.

It is working, and working fairly well (including that BUZZZZ when I press the button for the next song).

What is weird, however, is the headset, although bluetoothed to the phone, initially, doesn't play music on the headset. It requires me to open the phone, go to bluetooth and basically turn on the headset. Once that is done, the full functionality of the headset works perfectly (for all on/off/play/pause/stop/next/previous features). Actually this is probably by design - or else you wouldn't be able to play the music on the phone speakers (which is pretty decent too).

Isn't technology the greatest (when it works!!)

I keep getting "removing songs from memory" when I exit the Sync program. I'll format the card after I get all my pictures off-loaded - need to find a reader for the SD card...

Hopefully this will work - I hope to get the new Oakley O Rokr sunglasses / MP3 player 😁
