Check this link:

Apparently if you let the phone format the card, it formats as 2 1GB partitions (not sure how the phone manages those partitions).

But if you format the card on your PC, you can format it as 1 2GB partition and the phone will use it all so long as you copy the phone directories to the card.

yeah i got a 2 gig card yesterday when i put it in the phone it didn't know what to do with it, i told it to format the card and it changed it to a 1gig card, so I'm going to return it to the store and get a 1gig theirs no point in paying for 2gigs when i cant use it, i called LG cst service and they tell me different things, some tell me that it wont work with anything over a 1gig and some tell me that it works with 2gigs, but i couldn't get it to work. if anyone knows anything different let me know.

Has anyone tried putting 2gigs of stuff on the card then putting it back in the phone to see if it will play everything? It could be that it's not able to 'recognize' 2gigs but could still play all 2gigs of stuff.

I have a 2GB MicroSD card in my VX8300 and it works fine. I have not yet put more than 1 gig on it yet, but when I do i'll post it. The trick is to format it on your computer and add the necessary folders.

well, other people have said it doesn't play anything you add after you reach 1GB. Could you just add whatever to see what happens when you go over 1gb, you can always delete it.pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?
