A2DP

I just bought the Jabra BT Stereo Headset. They work fine for everything but music. I've enabled the mp3 player, loaded mp3s, and set the play button to my_mp3s. Whenever I press the play button on the headset it opens the mp3 player but the music plays through the phone speakers rather than the headset. Any Thoughts?

LG VX8300 Extended Battery

How long does the extended battery increase your talk/standby time versus the standard battery? Would you consider your money well spent on this item?

This question is for actual owners of the extended battery. Please do no answer if you do not have first-hand experience.

Loading .wma with license

I've recently purchased various songs from Napster. Each carries an unlimited transfer license. I don't have a USB cable for the phone, so I've just been copying the files onto my microSD card using a card reader with the computer. The mp3's work fine that way (no licenses). I've tried to even use Windows Media Player 10, using the Sync function to copy the .wma's to the card. They seem to be there (though I have to drag them into the correct folder), the phone reads them, starts to try to play them, then searches for a license and fails. Any help on how to get .wma's with license to play on the phone?

Thanks in advance.

8300 Tips and Tricks

Let's collect them here for easy reference.

1. Edit your speed dial number.
It seems impossible to edit the #1 speed dial to add your password. You can do it from the Messaging menu. Go to Messaging, Settings, All msg., #4 voice mail. From there add to PP (pauses)then the # sign, another P and then your password. It should look like this: *86PP#P and then your four number password. Works like a charm.

2. With the camera on you can toggle on/off the flash by pushing the voice command button (bottom left). You will notice the lightning bolt on the lower left part of your screen will turn yellow when flash is on.

3. Activate the Mp3 player from the "contacts" menu by pushing 0000000 This will open a service menu. Choose #11 Music se...

LG VX8300, USB cable, and Micro SD Card

[I originally posted this by mistake to the general LG forum instead of the VX-8300 forum, before I realized it belonged here]

I have a 1 gig Micro SD card and USB cable for my new LG VX8300. I also have downloaded and successfully used BitPim to send data to the phone. I have formatted the card. Can I use this setup to create a directory structure on the card and transfer MP3's directly from my PC to the phone, or do I still need a card reader? Is it necessary to save it as a ringtone first? Thanks.

Unlocked Phone

Not to savvy on this. Can somebody please tell me, if you buy an unlocked CDMA or GSM phone, don't you still have to use a service provider such as VZW or Sprint or Cingular to use it?

Can't get the Mp3 or WMA player to work

I have searched the forum and can't find anybody else who has had this problem.

I used the 0 menu and enabled the mp3 player, loaded a few mp3s on a 1.0 gig sd card and when I go to play them the phone freezes for about 30-45 sceonds and then acts like it is playing...i.e. the time counter advances and it showes how long the song is but the eq does not move and no sound comes out.

I tried other mp3 files with the same problem. I then tried some wma's and got the same result.

Has anyone else had this problem, and how can I fix it?

Thank you!

music essentials kit

I have been on the phone for over 2 hours with Microsoft and verizon wireless tech support and the the kit is NOT compatibly with:
Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2
Can not install Music Manager Software.
I believe Verizon needs to let the customer know about this, it is not compatible with all windows media players.
My windows media player verison is 10.00.00.4036

SOUND QUALITY (PLEASE COMMENT)

I am currently the proud owner of a vx8100 and getting ready for an upgrade. The sound quality of the MP3 player on this phone is awesome.

Can anyone and everyone with knowledge of the VX8500 and VX8300 comment on how the sound quality compares.

Thanks.

Quick question, .mp3 -> .mid on desktop? How?

When i change it, it doesn't change it to a .mid file im guessing has something to do with my computer settings.

Instead of changing the files it puts it in the name

"wherethecashat" mp3

i put .mid

"wherethecashat.mid" mp3 instead of changing it to a .mid
