Samsung SCH-A990

I got a chance to use this phone at the VZW store and it's NOT worth $349 for new customers and especially not $519 full retail. Sure it's built great, the camera is excellent and it has a few gimmicky extras, but that does not make up for how truly boring this phone is. The QVGA screen is wasted on this garbage menu system. The entry level Samsung A630 has a more advanced interface than this phone. It really is a shame that there isn't even the flash UI on this phone. The A990 is truly powerful and has great potential, but it's sad to see how dumbed down it is. Hopefully there will be a non-Verizonized firmware leaked eventually which can make this phone into what it should be. If you're looking for THE phone, my advice is to wait a few months and maybe something better will be out or at least the price on this may drop. A more adequate price for this phone in my opinion would be $199.99 for new 2 year customers and $370-400 full retail. Aside from the camera, QVGA screen and other gimmicks, phones such as the E815 and 8300 are better than this.
