I recently brought my phone to verizon, as I was haveing problems answering my phone. As my phone rang while in my case , I would open the case and slide the phone out, if the phone got near the magnetic button in the strap the phone call would be lost and would go right to my voicemail, this happened at least 50% of the time. They told me they just found out about this problem from one of there employees who also has this phone and couldnt figure out why it would drop the call before being answered. They discovered that this phone is super sensitive to magnetic fields, and cases with these magnetic clips will drive the phone crazy. They switched my case to a regular slip case and the problem is gone. SOUNDS crazy but true!!!!! Did anyone el...

Just wondering if any of you Verizon employees have any idea when this the price for this phone is going to get cheaper.
Also, my 2 year Verizon contract started 2 years ago this month. I had several issues with my LG 6100 and they finally gave me a LG 8000, but did not tell me that I was signing up for another 2 years from that date. To make a long story short I am told I cannot get another phone till the beginning of June.
Anyone know how I can get out of this and get a new phone now at the sale price?.

ok when i open the a pic i sent to the phone from my computer, it says UNSUPPORTED PIX FILE, why would that say that, some say it and some doesnt?? anybody else having this problem??? thanks

Got this phone about a week ago, its the 2nd one , first one I thought had a problem with the memory AND flickering Screen, but turned out that the memory card was bad but they gave me a new phone anyway. The second phone also has the same flickering problem. The Date and time on the bottom flickers sometimes when you open the phone. And also the bottom of the screen (red part)that shows the words
"Message MENU Contacts" sometimes is blank , just red, and if you hit a button , the words come back. Sounds crazy but it happens!! Does anyone else have this problem???????

Anyone know if the 2GB memory card is fully supported for this phone?
There have been some reports a while back where once you format the card and read it on the computer, it reads it as only 996MB and that extra space is gone.

I've noticed that on my a990, the music skips ever so slightly about 1 or 2 times per song. It's quick, but just enough to get on your nerves when it does it so often. I encoded my mp3s into WMAv9. Anyone else notice this?

Ok, So the first secret menu is activated by typing #000000 at the SETTINGS & TOOLS menu.

What about the second secret menu?
I've read three versions
1. #80ksex82
2. #880ksex82
3. #8880ksex82

What is the correct version? when do you type it in?...and is the 0ksex with a Zero or letter O?
Every time I try the second code it activates the "SATS mode" menu... Please help

When the battery is low, it makes a battery low sound every 5 minutes! And what's worse is that putting the phone in vibrate mode still makes this sound. The only way to stop it is to put the phone is silent mode and thus miss all your calls. That's pretty annoying huh.

I am trying to decide between the LG 8600 9900 and the Samsung A990. I have never owned a Samsung is this a good phone?

Get a video encoder, (like ImTOO MPEG Encoder) and take any movie you have and convert to either .3GP, .3G2. or .MP4. Do NOT make the resolution any bigger than 320x240 or the video won't play.

Here are some problems I've encountered. Although movies at 320x240 resolution will play, they skip too much. I've used bitrates at about 1300kbps and if I go too much lower, there are too many artifacts in the video. I did get 176x144 to play smoothly at around a 1300kbps bitrate, but since the video had to be stretched, it was a little blurry.

I'm having trouble finding a happy medium with good enough quality to enjoy watching a movie but bad enough to actually play smoothly. If anyone would help me undertake this project of figuring out ...

Hope someone can help me here. I'm having the same old problems with the 990 as I had with the 970. Sometimes I wish it was LG who made the 990 and then I'd know everything would work.

Anyhow, I can't get music to work on it. Am encoding it at 128kbps in wmv format. Plays about 6 secs of the song and then skips to next track. Is there a setting in this phone to make it mp3 compatible? I would appreciate it if someone could tell me how I would do that. Have looked at the service menu and it's not there.

Have encoded a movie for it in 3g2 format and it doesn't load in the pix folder. Just freezes with the file name and then shuts down. Same thing that the 970 did but I was able to have the 970 play 15 min clips. I'm going to ...

I just got the phone today and i'm really amazed at what it can do, BUT...when i open the pix and flixs folders they are laggy as hell to try and scroll through, any ideas?

I'm looking for a new phone (i currently have the lg vx-8000) and am very interested in this samsung.

Just a couple quick questions; can you change clock on the front display to actual numbers? I think the clock would annoy me to no end. Also, if you set a picture to a contact, will the picture appear on the front display?

Can u read text messages, and see missed calls from the front display screen?

Has anyone figured out how to use the business card capture feature? I really don't feel the manual that came with this phone is sufficient.

Also, does anyone know how to set up voicemail so when I call it it bypasses the password menu? I tried to follow the flow chart that came with the phone, but it doesn't match the meuns I am given. Thanks everyone!
